Pfizer: names Jeff Settleman head of oncology research

(CercleFinance.com) - Jeff Settleman, a specialist in targeted cancer therapeutics, has been named head of Pfizer's oncology unit, where he will lead research and development, from discovery to clinical studies.


Pfizer said he will join as from 1 July, from biotech firm Calico Life Sciences, where he was head of oncology research. Prior to Calico, he led discovery oncology at Roche's Genentech.

As a graduate of Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the Harvard School of Medicine, Settleman specialised in the epigenetics of cancer drug resistance, and personalized cancer medicine.
