Pfizer: agreement with AI firm to develop new drugs

(CercleFinance.com) - Pfizer has entered into an agreement with US AI firm Atomwise to identify potential drug candidates for up to three target proteins selected by the biopharmaceutical company.


Under the terms of the deal, Atomwise will computationally analyse millions of diverse small molecules for each of Pfizer's identified proteins, the companies said.

The startup will then use its platform to extract statistical insights from millions of experimental affinity measurements to predict the binding of small molecules to proteins.

Under the agreement, Pfizer will pay a technology access fee and additional success-based payments for each target protein of interest.
