Nvidia: Spielberg movie could be a catalyst, broker says

(CercleFinance.com) - Jefferies maintains a "buy" rating on the Nvidia stock, with target price of 300 dollars, saying that the Spielberg-directed movie could be a catalyst for the shares.


The broker believes that the movie called "Ready Player One," which depicts a society where everyone either lives or escapes into a virtual world, could drive sales of VR headsets that require high-performance graphics processing units from Nvidia and AMD.

In the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift models, the companies' GPU-cards can cost between 300 dollars and 3000 dollars, well above the average price of a GPU which can be measured in just tens of dollars, Jefferies said.
