Netflix: acquires Roald Dahl Story Company

(CercleFinance.com) - Netflix announces that it has acquired the Roald Dahl Story Company, the family business that manages the children's novelist's literary heritage.


The group says that it is planning to engage in both cinematographic and audio-visual productions, as well as publishing, video games, theatre and consumer goods.

The transaction emerges after Netflix has already been cooperating for three years with the Roald Dahl Story Company, for example on an adapted series of 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' to be produced by Taika Waititi ("Jojo Rabbit", "Thor: Ragnarok"). Netflix is also preparing a musical comedy inspired by 'Matilda' with Sony.
