Microsoft: new 'virtual machines' with Nvidia

(CercleFinance.com) - Microsoft on Monday introduced new virtual machines powered by Nvidia processors as part of the acceleration of its artificial intelligence (AI) business.


The two new infrastructures - which include the latest range of H100 Tensor Core graphics processors and the Quantum-2 InfiniBand networking platform - are intended to enable its customers to run their AI-related workloads in the Azure cloud system.

In a post on its corporate blog, the software giant explains that AI researchers are having to use increasingly powerful graphics processors to cope with increasingly complex workloads and larger models.
