Eli Lilly: FDA approves new migraine treatment
(CercleFinance.com) - Eli Lilly has won US FDA approval for an injected drug designed to treat episodic cluster headaches in adults.
After being trained by a healthcare professional, patients can administer the Emgality antibody at home through subcutaneous injections at the onset of a cluster headache period, and then monthly until the end of the period.
The medecine was first approved by the FDA in September 2018 for the preventive treatment of migraine in adults.
