Kraft Heinz: Warren Buffett stepping down from board

(CercleFinance.com) - Kraft Heinz said late last weekend that Warren Buffett will not seek a new term as a director.


The 87-year-old American mogul, and boss of Berkshire Hathaway, will make way for the Belgian Alexandre Van Damme, shareholder of the brewing giant, AB InBev.

Warren Buffett has played a key role in the agri-food group's history, which was born from the merger of Kraft Foods and H.J. Heinz in 2015. In particular, last year he backed Kraft Heinz the and investor 3G Capital's unsolicited bid for Unilever, although this was rejected by the Anglo-Dutch agri-food giant.
