KKR: EU clears Axel Springer takeover, alongside CCPIB

(CercleFinance.com) - The Commission has authorised the acquisition of joint control of Axel Springer by CCPIB (the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board) and KKR in the United States.


The Commission concluded that the proposed acquisition would not raise competition concerns in areas where the companies' businesses overlap.

The transaction was examined under the EU's Simplified Merger Procedure.
