IBM: acquires Stepzen

(CercleFinance.com) - IBM today announced its first external growth transaction of the year via the acquisition of StepZen Inc.
, a company founded in 2020 that has developed a solution that enables developers to create GraphQL APIs - a query language and server-side execution environment for application programming interfaces (APIs) - quickly and with less code.

APIs serve as a critical connector between different data sources and applications, which means that companies are relying on and creating more APIs than ever to get the data they need to power their applications and experiences, IBM says.

A Gartner report predicts that by 2025, over 50% of companies will be using GraphQL in production, compared to less than 10% in 2021, IBM adds.
