IBM: strategic collaboration with AWS

(CercleFinance.com) - IBM announced on Wednesday that it has entered into a strategic collaboration agreement with Amazon Web Services that will enable it to sell its software online on the Internet giant's cloud platform.


Under the terms of the agreement, IBM's software in areas ranging from job automation and data management to artificial intelligence and cybersecurity will be sold on demand as a cloud service.

Both partners, who say they are targeting industries such as energy, travel and transport, also plan to make a number of joint investments, including in product marketing and training.

No financial details were provided and there are no major leaps or dives - for either stock - in pre-market trading today.
