(CercleFinance.com) - Intel's venture-capital arm is investing 132 million dollars in 11 startups, including three Chinese companies, the latest pledge in "disruptive" technologies from the US chip giant.
Intel Capital's new investments include KFBIO, a Chinese biotech company that builds pathology scanners, ProPlus, a Chinese electronic design expert that specialises in fast circuit simulation and Spectrum Materials, a high-purity specialty gas and material supplier for semiconductor fabs.
Intel is also backing other Silicon Valley-based startups focusing on artificial intelligence (AI), autonomous computing or chip design, the chipmaker said.
Intel Capital plans to invest between 300 million dollars and 500 million dollars in startups in 2020, in domains ranging from intelligent edge to network transformation.
