Honeywell: stock to join Nasdaq 100 index
(CercleFinance.com) - The US industrial conglomerate Honeywell will join the Nasdaq 100 index as from Wednesday 21 July, the Nasdaq market operator announced in a statement published on Tuesday evening.
The Charlotte, North Carolina-based group will take the place of biopharmaceutical company Alexion, which will be absorbed by Anglo-Swedish giant AstraZeneca as from next week.
Honeywell, which has historically manufactured materials for the construction industry, has for some years presented itself as a "technology" company, providing specific solutions for certain sectors, such as aerospace.
The group, which is also listed on the Dow Jones, has a current valuation of 158 billion dollars.
