Goldman Sachs: COO to retire; successor named

(CercleFinance.com) - Goldman Sachs said that it has named David Solomon as its chief operating officer, succeeding Harvey Schwartz, who has decided to retire on 20 April.


Harvey Schwartz had served as COO since January 2017. Prior to that, he served for four years as chief financial officer. He joined the bank in 1997.

According to specialists, the move paves the way for David Solomon to be named as the next chief executive when chairman and CEO Lloyd C. Blankfein resigns.
