GM: Honda to join autonomous vehicle technology Cruise

(CercleFinance.com) - General Motors said on Wednesday that Japanese car maker Honda will join forces for the large-scale deployment of its autonomous vehicle technology Cruise.


Honda will work jointly with GM and will contribute approximately 2 billion dollars over 12 years to build new autonomous vehicles, which, together with a 750 million dollars equity stake in Cruise, will bring its total commitment to the project to 2.75 billion dollars.

In addition to the recently announced SoftBank investments, the transaction brings the post-money valuation of Cruise to 14.6 billion dollars, GM said.
