Ford: progress report at Blueoval SK Battery Park

(CercleFinance.com) - Ford and SK On have announced that work on the 5.
8 billion dollar BlueOval SK Battery Park in Kentucky, a joint venture between these companies, is on track and on schedule.

The site will produce advanced batteries for future Ford and Lincoln electric vehicles. Production is expected to begin in 2025, creating about 5,000 jobs.

Eventually, the facility should be able to produce over 80 gigawatt hours of battery capacity per year.

The BlueOval SK Battery Park will be at the heart of the electrification of the North American automotive market, management at SK On said.

For the record, Ford has set a goal of producing 2 million electric vehicles worldwide annually by the end of 2026.
