Ford: US sales down 7.8% in November

(CercleFinance.com) - On Friday Ford reported a 7.
8% decline in US sales for November, mainly due to a sharp drop in SUV sales.

The second largest US car manufacturer this morning announced that 146,364 new cars were sold in the US last month, compared with 158,793 a year ago.

Pick-ups fell by 1.2%, PC sales were down 13.3% and SUV sales dropped 15%, despite good sales of the new Bronco, although these failed to offset the weakness of the Edge and Explorer.

Ford said that its EV sales more than doubled to 6,255 units sold in the month, making it the second-largest electric vehicle manufacturer in the US behind Tesla.

In early trading, Ford shares were down about 1.5%, trailing the negative S&P 500 index, which itself was down just over 1%.
