Ford: EU clears Ford Turkey/Ford Romania deal

(CercleFinance.com) - The European Commission has authorised the acquisition of sole control of the Romanian company Ford Romania by the Turkish company, Ford Otomotiv Sanayi.


As a result of the transaction, Ford Romania will own and operate only an assembly plant and a car manufacturing plant located in the city of Craiova, Romania.

Ford Otosan is a car manufacturer and distributor, owned by Ford Motor Company and Koç Holding.

The Commission concluded that the proposed acquisition would not give rise to any competition concerns as there are no overlaps between the companies' activities and the companies are not active in related markets in the European Economic Area.
