Ford: all-new E-Transit van to be built at Kansas City plant

(CercleFinance.com) - Ford Motor said on Tuesday that its Kansas City assembly plant has been chosen to build the all-new E-Transit van, a zero-emission version of its best-selling commercial van to be launched in late 2021.


E-Transit, to be unveiled on Thursday, is part of the carmaker's 11.5 billion dollar-plus investment in electrification through to 2022, which will see the new Mustang Mach-E reach the market next month.

Ford said that it is investing an additional 100 million dollars in its Kansas City factory, and adding approximately 150 full-time jobs, to begin producing the all-new E-Transit.

Ford also said on Tuesday that it is increasing production plans for the fully electric F-150 at its historic Dearborn plant, adding 200 permanent jobs in addition to a previously announced 300 jobs for the all-new F-150 and all-electric F-150 to be launched in 2022.
