Ford: European sales down 1.4% in 2019

(CercleFinance.com) - Ford said European car sales fell by 1.
4% in 2019, due to lower demand in the UK, its largest market in Europe.

Total deliveries in the company's traditional European 20 markets fell to 1.33 million vehicles last year, Ford Europe said on Friday, a drop that compares to a 1.4% rise in the European car market in 2019.

The fall - due to lower demand for models such as the C-Max and the Fiesta compact - was particularly concentrated in the UK.

In the UK, which remains Ford's biggest market in the region, the company posted an 7% drop to 355,100 deliveries for 2019.

Despite these losses in market share, Ford said it seeks to focus on the future and its aim of having 14 electrified vehicles this year.
