Ford: electrification tipping point expected by end of 2022

(CercleFinance.com) - Ford said it expects its electrified vehicle line-up to surpass conventional petrol and diesel cars by 2022.


This means that by the end of 2022 over 50% of Ford passenger vehicle sales in Europe should be electrified.

The announcement was made at the Frankfurt Motor Show in Germany today.

For the record, Ford plans to launch 17 electrified vehicles in Europe by 2024, including eight in 2019.

Also note that Moody's has downgraded Ford's senior unsecured debt rating from "Baa3" to "Ba1", citing "considerable" operating and market challenges, coupled with weak earnings and cash generation.
