Ford: November China auto sales collapse 55%

(CercleFinance.com) - Ford Motor and its Chinese joint ventures sold 52,434 vehicles in China in November, down 55% from a year earlier, the US carmaker said on Friday.

Faced with these weak numbers, published in the midst of the trade dispute between the US and China, Ford said it has to "better understand" Chinese customers, introduce more products that customers like, streamline its organization, and speed up decision-making.

The newly launched Ford Focus and new Ford Escort are the two of the first batch of the 50 new products the carmaker plans to launch in China by 2025.

Over the first 11 months of 2018, Ford sold a total of 695,028 vehicles in China, down 34% from last year.
