Facebook: ex-Deputy Secretary of Treasury joins board

(CercleFinance.com) - Facebook said on Thursday that Robert Kimmitt, a former Deputy Secretary of the US Treasury, has been appointed to the company's board as lead independent director, effective immediately.


A veteran of the Vietnam war, Kimmitt served as a US Ambassador to Germany between 1991 and 1993, and was a managing director at Lehman Brothers between 1993 and 1997.

Facebook also said on Thursay that Jeffrey Zients, the CEO of private equity firm Cranemere, has informed the company that he will not stand for re-election to the board.
