Disney: Toy Story 4 takings exceed 1 billion dollars

(CercleFinance.com) - Disney studios have announced that this week the animated film "Toy Story 4" has exceeded the threshold of one billion dollars in global takings.


As of 14 August, the Pixar film, which was released in June, saw its takings reach 1.0017 billion dollars at the global box office, Disney said.

This is the fifth Disney movie whose takings have exceeded the 1-billion-dollar threshold this year.

In the United States and Canada, "Toy Story 4" raked in 421.8 million dollars, making it the fifth most-watched animated film in North America.

Internationally, total revenues stand at 579.9 million dollars, with the film yet to be released in countries such as Germany and Scandinavian countries.
