Disney: latest 'Pirates of the Caribbean' storms box office.

(CercleFinance.com) - Two Disney films have taken the top spots at the box office worldwide over the past weekend, according to global media measurement and analytics company, comScore.


The latest edition of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, "Dead Men Tell No Tales," grossed 270.6 million dollars on its global opening weekend of 28 May.

With a likely worldwide 4-day performance of over 300 million dollars, with this Monday being a public holiday, Memorial Day, the overall franchise should exceed the 4 billion dollar mark in the coming days, comScore said.

"Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2", another Disney production, ranked second in worldwide box office, but with just 28.5 million dollars in takings over the weekend.
