Cisco: completes acquisition of Acacia Communications

(CercleFinance.com) - Cisco announced on Monday that it had completed the acquisition of Acacia Communications almost two years after it announced the takeover of the network infrastructure equipment specialist.


In a statement, Cisco specifies that the deal - now completed after approval from Acacia's shareholders - will enable it to strengthen its offer in terms of optical transport as part of its strategic plan entitled "Internet for the Future".

Cisco says it acquired Acacia for 115 dollars per share in cash, for a total purchase price of around 4.5 billion dollars.

The company initially announced the acquisition of Acacia Communications in July 2019 for about 2.6 billion dollars.
