Boeing: US Army orders two Chinook Helicopters
(CercleFinance.com) - Boeing has announced that the US Army has ordered two CH-47F Block II Chinook helicopters as part of a 63 million dollar upgrade of its heavy-lift helicopter fleet.
The aircraft manufacturer says the CH-47F Block II Chinook is powered by advanced technologies, including redesigned fuel tanks, a reinforced fuselage and an improved transmission.
Last year, the US Army awarded Boeing a 136 million dollar contract for the first four CH-47F Block II aircraft, with production beginning in April 2022.
This new order brings the number of CH-47F Block II Chinooks currently under contract to six.
