Boeing: 20-year outlook for Middle East

(CercleFinance.com) - In its 20-year business outlook, Boeing says Middle Eastern airlines will need 3,000 new aircraft worth 700 billion dollars, as well as 740 billion dollars in aftermarket (maintenance and repair) services by 2040.

According to the CMO, passenger traffic in the Middle East and the region's commercial fleet are expected to more than double over the next 20 years. The company estimates that more than two-thirds of aircraft deliveries in the Middle East will be used to meet traffic growth, while one-third of deliveries will be used to replace older aircraft with more fuel-efficient models.

Air cargo is also a continuing area of opportunity for Middle Eastern airlines: again, Boeing estimates that the freighter fleet will almost double from 80 aircraft in 2019 to 150 by 2040.

Boeing adds that the current single-aisle fleet of 660 aircraft is expected to nearly triple to 1,750 by 2040.
