Boeing: ANA orders Dreamliner jets worth 5 billion dollars

(CercleFinance.com) - Japan's ANA Holdings said late on Monday that it will order up to another 20 787 Dreamliner aircraft worth over 5 billion dollars from Boeing, even though this announcement failed to budge the aircraft maker's share price much in New York this morning.

The Japanese airline has decided to buy 11 787-10s, one 787-9 and has put options for five 787-9s, aiming to replace its previous domestic 777 models that are slated for retirement.

Once the agreements are finalised, it will be ANA's sixth Dreamliner order, bringing the carrier's 787 order backlog to over 100 aircraft.

This order, however, failed to lift the Boeing stock, which has fallen by over 25% over the past year, and the NYSE-listed share is currently flat.
