Apple: loses preliminary injunction vs Qualcomm in China

(CercleFinance.com) - A Chinese court has granted Qualcomm a preliminary injunction against Apple in a patent infringement case banning the Californian giant from selling its iPhones in China.


Qualcomm said that the Fuzhou Intermediate People's Court has granted its request for two preliminary injunctions against four Chinese subsidiaries of Apple.

The court's decision prompts an immediate ban on imports and sales of iPhones, including iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X, Qualcomm said.

Before this, two patents were found to be valid by the Chinese patent office, the mobile chipmaker said.

The shares of Qualcomm were up 3.1% on the news, while the stock of Apple was losing 2%.
