Amazon: 150,000 seasonal workers to be hired in US

(CercleFinance.com) - Amazon announced Monday that it intends to recruit about 150,000 seasonal employees in the US in preparation for the strategic Christmas season.


The Seattle-based company said in a statement that all new jobs will come with an average hourly wage of at least 18 dollars, a signing bonus of up to 3,000 dollars and additional compensation of up to 3 dollars an hour, depending on the position and location.

The online retail giant also pointed out that these seasonal contracts could develop into "long-term" career opportunities.

The group said it had 950,000 employees in the US alone at the end of the second quarter.
