Amazon: a good year for small businesses in 2017

(CercleFinance.com) - Over 300,000 US-based small and medium-sized businesses (SMB) joined the Amazon Marketplace in 2017, the e-commerce giant said on Wednesday.


Half of items purchased by customers on Amazon are from SMB selling through the Amazon Marketplace, it said.

Customers ordered more than one billion items from such companies over the holiday season alone, the company added.

Amazon also said that more than 140,000 small and medium-sized businesses now generate over 100,000 dollars in annual revenues on Amazon.
