Abbott Labs: Q1 EPS just above estimates

(CercleFinance.com) - Abbott Laboratories has posted Q1 2020 adjusted EPS from continuing operations that is up 3.
2% at 65 cents, one cent above the consensus, for revenues that are up 2.5% to over 7.7 billion dollars.

In organic terms, the healthcare group's organic sales increased by 4.3% over the period, growth driven by its nutrition (+7.3%) and established pharmaceutical products (+9.3%) divisions.

Due to uncertainties about the duration and impact of the pandemic, Abbott has suspended its annual targets, which include adjusted EPS of 3.55-3.65 dollars and organic sales growth of 7%-8%.
