AT&T: Warner Bros. unit to produce 'Hello Kitty' movie

(CercleFinance.com) - AT&T's Warner Bros.
will produce a movie based on the "Hello Kitty" brand, for the first time in the brand's 45-year history, the film studio giant announced on Wednesday.

Japan's Sanrio has granted the film rights to New Line, a Warner Bros. unit that produced the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy, Warner said.

The movie will then be distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures.

Initially designed in 1974, Hello Kitty can now be found in 130 countries on over 50,000 different branded products each year.
