AT&T: to launch first 5G smartphone in H1 2019

(CercleFinance.com) - AT&T will propose its customers a 5G smartphone from Samsung in the first half of 2019 as the US telecoms giant plans to roll in its 5G network by the end of 2018.


This 5G smartphone will give customers access to the 5G network on a compatible plan, the company said in a statement on Tuesday.

This is the second mobile 5G device that AT&T has announced after the mobile router Wifi Netgear Nighthawk, which was unveiled in October.

To date, AT&T has installed mobile 5G network equipment in the 12 areas where it plans to make 5G available in 2018, including Atlanta, Houston, Indianapolis, Oklahoma City, and San Antonio.

As a reminder, AT&T has selected Samsung as one of its technology suppliers for its mobile 5G network.
