Ericsson: provides connectivity for Voi e-scooters

(CercleFinance.com) - Ericsson has worked alongside tech firm Arkessa to provide a connectivity solution supporting the deployment of Voi's electric scooters, the company said on Tuesday.


The Swedish firm said that Arkessa's cellular services are powered by its "IoT accelerator" for connectivity management, helping it to offer
automation features.

With the SIMs supplied by Arkessa, Voi can provision and activate its e-scooters, and manage its fleet of connected scooters worldwide, regardless of their location, the gear maker said.

Ericsson said cellular IoT connections are expected to grow nearly 3.5 times, from 1.7 billion in 2020 to 5.9 billion in 2026.
