Ericsson: wins 5G deal with Czech telecoms firm Cetin

(CercleFinance.com) - Ericsson said that it has signed a five-year contract to bring 5G to the Czech Republic, with the Swedish company the supplier behind the network transformation of Czech telecoms infrastructure firm Cetin.


Under the terms of the deal, Ericsson will modernise over 4,000 cellular sites across the full operational area of Cetin's mobile network, covering two thirds of the Czech Republic, including the capital city Prague.

Cetin will upgrade its 4G and legacy networks to 5G using Ericsson radio access network (RAN) and advanced antenna system technologies.

Cetin's customers include T-Mobile and O2, meaning that carriers will bring 5G-powered services such as connected utilities and healthcare to life, as well as AR/VR.
