Ericsson: shakes up management team and signs new deals.

(CercleFinance.com) - Swedish telecoms group Ericsson on Tuesday announced changes to its management team, including the promotion of Fredrik Jejdling, the head of its main network unit.

In addition to his current role as head of business area networks, Fredrik Jejdling has been appointed executive vice president, effective as of today.

Simultaneously, Jan Frykhammar, will leave his role as executive vice president and the Ericsson executive Team, as will Magnus Mandersson.

Ericsson also said on Tuesday that it has been awarded a modernization contract by Mobily to upgrade its access network in the western region of Saudi Arabia.

In another piece of good news for the troubled network gear maker, Ericsson has completed the world's first 5G data call using 26GHz millimeter-wave (mmWave) spectrum on behalf of Australia's mobile network operator Telstra.
