Ericsson: prototype 5G network deployed for MTS in Moscow.

(CercleFinance.com) - Ericsson has built a prototype 5G network in Moscow for Russia's biggest mobile phone operator, Mobile TeleSystems (MTS), and has successfully completed a trial of it.


Ericsson and MTS now plan to further develop the 5G prototype system to an extended 5G demo zone in time for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

In addition, Ericsson will deploy its fully virtualized MediaFirst solution suite for Telstra, which will power the Australian telecoms company's new video processing data center.
