Equinor: invests in battery storage

(CercleFinance.com) - Equinor announces an investment in the Blandford Road battery storage project in the south of the England.


This will be the first commercial battery storage asset for Equinor and the first project from the partnership with Noriker Power.

Over the past 10 months Equinor has invested in two leading battery storage development companies, Noriker Power in the UK and East Point Energy in the US. It has now taken the next step and sanctioned its first commercial battery storage project, the group said.

Note that Equinor acquired a 45% stake in Noriker Power Limited in December 2021.

The Blandford Road project is a 25 MW/50 MWh battery storage asset located in Dorset.
