Telenor: Ericsson to build 5G radio network in Norway

(CercleFinance.com) - Telenor said that it will team up with Swedish telecom gear maker Ericsson to help it modernise and build its 5G radio access network (RAN) in Norway.


The modernisation will take 4-5 years, with Norway's biggest telecoms provider planning to ramp up the roll out of 5G to customers in Norway in 2020.

Due to this, Telenor will use equipment from existing RAN vendor, China's Huawei, to maintain the 4G network and also upgrade to 5G coverage in selected areas of Norway.
