ING: Van Rijswijk to succeed Ralph Hamers as CEO

(CercleFinance.com) - ING announced on Friday the appointment of Steven van Rijswijk as Chief Executive Officer as from 1 July, replacing Ralph Hamers, who is due to take over as head of the Swiss investment bank UBS by the end of the year.


Steven van Rijswijk, 50, is a Dutch national who joined ING in 1995, holding a range of senior positions before being recently appointed Head of Risk Management.

ING says that van Rijswijk played an important role in developing the group's business model in recent years - in particular by strengthening its capabilities in terms of data management and analytical tools.
The ING share is pretty flat (+0.2% an hour into trading) on Friday morning on Euronext Amsterdam after this announcement.
