ABN Amro: van Dijkhuizen leaves as CEO, replaced by Swaak

(CercleFinance.com) - ABN Amro said Kees van Dijkhuizen will retire as chief executive in April, to be replaced by Robert Swaak, the former boss of auditing firm PwC in the Netherlands.

The Dutch lender said Swaak's priority will be to implement improvement programs to detect financial crime, while promoting compliance with a growing number of rules and regulations.

In September, ABN Amro said a Dutch public prosecutor was investigating the group over allegations of money laundering and the financing of terrorism.

Swaak, who has been appointed for a four-year term, will succeed van Dijkhuizen at the group's AGM scheduled for 22 April.

The ABN Amro was up 2% in Amsterdam after this announcement.
