Altice: disputes EU's conclusions over PT Portugal.

(CercleFinance.com) - The European Commission announced this morning that Altice has breached EU rules by too early an implementation its acquisition of PT Portugal.


It believes that Altice has breached EU rules on concentration in its acquisition of Portugal's telecom operator PT Portugal before notifying it or even being authorised to do so.

Altice disputes the European Commission's initial findings: it will provide a full response after the complaints are communicated, and challenges all objections.

The group said that "The sending of a statement of objections does not prejudge the final outcome of the investigation".

It adds that "The investigation proceedings do not affect the approval granted by the European Commission for the acquisition of PT Portugal by Altice."
