FCA: launches new vehicle touchscreen platform

(CercleFinance.com) - FCA is launching a new platform that will enable customers to make on-demand reservations and to purchase products and services from their vehicle's touchscreen.


For example, drivers can view a list of nearby fuel stations and authorise a fuel pump charge at Shell stations, with the platform also useing directory service and review website Yelp to display a list of nearby restaurants by category.

Other brands participating in the "Uconnect" platform include pizza chain Domino's and mobile parking startup Park Whiz, FCA said.

The platform will be deployed in the second half of 2019 on Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram vehicles which are equipped the latest generation of touchscreens.
