Aegon: completes share buyback program

(CercleFinance.com) - Dutch insurer Aegon said on Friday that it had completed its share buyback program launched in June to neutralise the dilutive impact of its stock dividend.


The total buyback volume amounted to 117 million euros, with close to 22 million common shares repurchased at an average price of 5.34 euros per share, the company said in a statement.

This program neutralised the dilutive effect of the 2017 final dividend paid in shares, Ageon said.

The repurchased shares will be held as treasury shares and will be used to cover future stock dividends, it added.
