Airbus: Eurofighter secures thousands of jobs in Spain

(CercleFinance.com) - Airbus has announced that the Eurofighter program will guarantee a total of 26,000 jobs in Spain through to 2060, according to a study by PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC) financed by Airbus.


The report states that the manufacturing (2020-2030) and maintenance (2023-2060) phases of the Halcon and Quadriga programs will create an average of 657 jobs - direct, indirect and induced - per year, i.e. 26,000 jobs by 2060.

The two Eurofighter Tranche 4 contracts are expected to contribute nearly E1.7bn to Spain's GDP, with the manufacture and maintenance of Halcon generating approximately E1.5bn and the production of Quadriga accounting for the remaining E200m.
