Airbus: successful launch of FalconEye Satellite

(CercleFinance.com) - The FalconEye observation satellite has been successfully launched from the European space port (CSG) of Kourou, French Guiana, by an Arianespace Soyuz rocket.


The FalconEye satellite system will support the armed forces of the United Arab Emirates. It was developed by Airbus Defense and Space and Thales Alenia Space as joint prime contractors.

Airbus Defense and Space was responsible for the design, integration and testing of the satellite, and provided the platform, while Thales Alenia Space designed and supplied the optical instrument and image chain.
