Airbus: announces launch of A321XLR at Paris Air show
(CercleFinance.com) - Airbus announces the launch of its very long-haul A321XLR monohull aircraft that is complementary to the A321neo family.
The A321XLR reduces fuel consumption per seat by 30% compared to previous generation competitor aircraft. It can travel up to 8,700 km non-stop.
This aircraft combines the economic benefits of single-aisle aircraft with the comfort of the Widebody long-haul cabin.
"With this added range, airlines will be able to operate a lower-cost single-aisle aircraft on longer and less heavily travelled routes," the group said.
"This will enable operators to open new world-wide routes such as India to Europe or China to Australia, as well as further extending the Family's non-stop reach on direct transatlantic flights between continental Europe and the Americas."
