STMicro: inaugurates installation in Rousset

(CercleFinance.com) - On Friday the group inaugurated an innovative installation aimed at reducing the energy consumption of the semiconductor production site in Rousset by 4,500 MWh per year.

This installation represents a 20% improvement on the initial installation.

This installation meets energy performance and environmental challenges thanks to the use of new generation refrigerants that contribute to the protection of the ozone layer and the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.

STMicroelectronics Rousset and Dalkia have been working together since 2020 to improve the performance of the chillers, which are essential for cooling the production equipment and generating the air conditioning needed for the cleanroom to function properly, it said.
