STMicro: supply agreement with Sicrystal

(CercleFinance.com) - STMicroelectronics announces the signing of a multi-year agreement for the supply of silicon carbide wafers (SiC) with SiCrystal, a company of the ROHM group that has a significant share of the SiC wafer market in Europe.


Under the agreement, SiCrystal will thus supply the Franco-Italian semiconductor manufacturer with SiC wafers produced in advanced 150 mm technologies totalling over 120 million dollars over this period.

The adoption of power solutions with silicon carbide is accelerating in both the automotive and industrial markets. Through this agreement, both companies will help to increase the use of silicon carbide in these markets.
